Ellsworth Farmers Market Has a New Home

Welcome to URCI!

The Union River Center for Innovation (URCI) has welcomed, with open arms, the Ellsworth Farmers Market to the community of businesses and non-profits currently housed at the Center.

November 2025 Update: They’re coming back permanently beginning in May 2026!

The Market lost its location on Main Street for the 2025 season and moved to Pine Street, then in celebration of the Chamber of Commerce Autumn Gold, located at URCI in late September, then to accommodate a conflict at its Pine Steet location returned on URCI October 4th.

Gunjan Gilbert, market secretary, was on site on the 4th and commented, “All our members present at the URCI location are happy as are our customers who visit. The visibility of location, easy access, and adequate parking allowed us to consider moving here permanently and the market is very grateful to the City of Ellsworth and the Union River Center for facilitating it.”

As we are working on a vision for the Center’s next decade, particularly with all the focus on the local and regional food system, the synergy here is amazing,”  commented Ellsworth City Manager, Charlie Pearce,  “We’re looking forward to working with the Farmers Market to help broaden the Center’s footprint in both our local regional food systems.”

The Market will finish out its 2025 season operating through the Saturday before Thanksgiving and will return in 2026. Regular hours are from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. The Union River Center for Innovation is located at 415 Water Street in Ellsworth adjacent to the city’s Harbor Park and Marina.
